It looks like the Corvette Z06 has found a new home, John V will be taking it back east sometime after Nationals. John's a good friend of mine from back in the day when I used to beat him in B-Stock! :)
I'm starting to get sad that the car will be going away, but I am glad it is going to a good home, someone who will autocross her just as much if not more than I have. We've still got a month or so together, so I will enjoy her while she's here!

Today marks the first day of classes at UMSL For the Fall 2008 Semester. I'm taking two economics courses this semester as well as finishing up a course from this summer. With class and all of my work trips coming up it is going to be a busy fall!

Another movie review from the Hammond family. Natalie and I went to see Tropic Thunder tonight, eh, it was so-so, not too great, but not too bad either. I must say, I was thinking lately that I haven't enjoyed Stiller movies, now I am pretty sure I just don't like the guy's work. I think Something About Mary was his one and only good role.

I spent the day today cleaning up the Corvette and then setup the new look of the car for the upcoming Solo Nationals. A big thanks to Dave at www.SoloPerformance.com for getting the vinyl cut yesterday. It took me pretty much all afternoon to get this done, with washing the car, clay barring a few parts of the car, polish and wax, applying the vinyl then another wash.
I think the car turned out great, you can check out the flickr photos to see what it looks like. Now for the video, music from Steve Ewing (www.steveewingmusic.com)
Check out the video on the full blog post.

Yesterday I spent an hour or so working on the motor in the garage. I only got one thing finished, and hopefully it is finished and doesn't need to come off again, I got the cover and gasket installed on the head. After that I got the oil cooler connections on the side of the block and then spent some time cleaning up other items on the blog. It's amazing how much crap is on that block, I wish I had a pressure washer to clean it off. Video on the full post

After the Solo Nationals this year the Corvette (available mid to late September) will be for sale as I have other plans for the next year. This car has been exciting, and if I didn't have some big things coming up in the next 12 months I would be keeping it and running it all next year. I wouldn't be opposed to someone buying the car and me co-driving it next year at National events, and some local STL events. Any co-drive arrangements would be made seperate of the sale of the vehicle.
Get yourself a car for a great price that is capable of winning trophies at National Tours, ProSolos, and to take the top Index and even FTD at local events. (Currently located in St. Louis, MO)
Here are some of the specifics:
2004 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 ~18k miles currently
3M Clear Bra
1 Set of Koni Sport shocks (currently the fronts are installed)
1 Set of OEM Shocks (rears installed on car)
1 OEM Sway Bar
1 Adco (sp?) Sway Bar
1 Borla Stinger exhaust (on car)
1 Hardbar Harness Bar
1 Corbeau Harness in car
1 Set of Street Wheels/Tires, C6 Z06 look, in C5 size
3 Sets of C5 Z06 wheels, not sure what tires will be left/included with sale.
The car has been well maintained and cared for, all fluids changed recently, transmission and diff using Red Line, Mobil 1 Synthetic used exclusively in the motor.
I’m looking for $31k for the car and all the above parts.
The www.corvettez06.org website might also be for sale but is not part of the price of the car. If you're interested in the car feel free to get in touch with me. -Chris

It looks like New York in two weeks will be a Family affair! The New England clan will be driving/flying? down to join me at the Red Sox Yankees game on the 26h at Yankees Stadium. I'll repeat the process in Boston a month later as I have a pair of tickets to two games at Fenway in the final regular series of the 2008 season, also against the damn Yankees.

Another class win in SS and SSL for the CorvetteZ06.org team, as well as another overall index win, that makes 3 local events in a row for the team. Videos and data coming later this week. Anyone who watched my fifth run today also witnessed the return of the White Tornado to St. Louis. Photos of the aftermath can be found on the full blog post.

So I picked up the trailer this evening, here's to hoping the tires have air in them tomorrow so I can bring the car home! Nick is supposed to be here at 9am and we'll head east at that point. I haven't made room for the car in the garage yet, but am hoping that having it at home sitting in the driveway will motivate me to get the garage cleaned up tomorrow. Otherwise the home owner's association will be all over my ass, of that I can guarantee.

Why is DotNetNuke better than Kentico CMS? Reason #1, it's free! DNN is free and easy to configure, Kentico CMS costs $1500 for the enterprise license, and that cost is going up to $9999 on September 1st! For more reasons why you should be using DotNetNuke...(read more)

Today went a little better than yesterday, weather wise and results wise for myself, though I still wasn't pleased with my performance. I did managed to move in front of Dave today, but could have moved up another spot had I been clean on my fastest run. Lucky for me my 5th run was finally clean, I was fortunate enough to get a red flag on a run, giving me a rerun. Had I not received the rerun i might have made it 4 runs with a cone on each of them, I had a cone on the run I was red flagged so that helped me out greatly. I'll try to get video up and going tomorrow, and I'll work on getting my DL-1 data from the last few events posted on www.racematerials.com

Today was an interesting day. It was once again hot hot hot today. I managed to get faster on all of my runs, and my last run would have put me in 2nd but I picked up a cone in the last 25% of the course, so I had to sit on my third run. Dave did the same thing, though his third run was faster than mine. I believe we're sitting in 4th and 5th right now.
We'll see how Sunday goes. I'll see if I can't get video going later tonight, we're heading off to the banquet for dinner shortly.

Today started very early, 3:52 early when Dave called me and woke me up on his way to pick me up, we were on the road by 4:30 or so. We got into the Topeka area just around 8:30am and stopped by the car wash to give the car a quick spray. From there it was off to Heartland Park to get things rolling. We ended up working before we ran in the Test&Tune, it was hot pretty much all day, even earlier in the morning. Both Dave and I had issues today with the car. The first mistake was made on Wednesday before loading it up on the trailer, I forgot to fill the car up with gas, so we ran today starting at a quarter of a tank. I don't know if this was the cause, or the poor surface conditions here at Heartland Park but I spun the car on my first 2 runs, and then again 4 or 5 more times, I think I had 4 runs without spins and probably 7 runs that had spins. I also managed to hit a ton of cones. Midway through the day I was ready to call it quits and drive home, it would have been more comfortable, it was a damn hot day today. Hopefully tomorrow will be a bit better, but we will see. We're running first heat, so hopefully we'll get the coolest runs of the day, though that will most likely mean the surface will be nice and sandy. I had some video today that I was going to try to get posted, but I managed to delete it from the hard drive and the compact flash, lesson learned!
