Quick Reply and RSS Display for Community Server 1.1

Last Updated Wednesday, January 23, 2008 4:50 PM

I've released the latest version of the CJHControls for Community Server 1.1. You can download the package here.

This release is upgraded to run on CS 1.1, and includes the following functionality.

  1. Forum Quick Reply, allowing registered users to post replies to forum threads without having to go to a seperate reply page.
  2. RSS Display, allowing site administrators the ability to display internal, or external RSS Feeds on their web pages, with XSL formatting.

You can download the latest controls here.

Any questions or comments can be posted here.

Something trivial, but in the instructions you first talk about placing xml-newsFeed.xsl and the file included is xml-short.xsl. No biggie, but I am having problems getting slashdot.org RSS to work. Do you think you could try it and let me know if its them or me?

Thanks

You'll need to get another XSL file to use for the slashdot feed. I don't have time tonight to try to figure out what the file actually needs to look like though. Sorry

Great idea with the Quick Reply control! Is it possible to make it go to the last page after the reply, instead of the first message in the thread?

Also, how exactly the e-mail subscription checkbox works and how to unsubscribe?

Thank you!

I installed the QuickReply, but people were complaining about getting "flooding" warning. It seemed posts were being duplicated.

I removed it, and problem resolved. This didn't happen for me, since as ad admin, I don't have to worry about the flooding :D
