I can’t believe it, but tonight after work I came home and washed, rain-x’d and waxed the Mazda CX-7. We’ve owned it since December, and this is the first time I’ve put wax on it.

I’m so ashamed, I don’t know if I have ever owned a car (besides the 240z) that ever went that long without getting waxed. Even the Turbobird got waxed and it was a huge mess.

The CX-7 was a mess, as is the 350z right now. One of the downfalls of living in Half Moon Bay, if you don’t park your cars in the garage (we don’t currently have room) they WILL be wet almost every morning.

Perhaps this weekend I can get the garage cleaned and come up with room for at least one of the cars.

For those of you who have known me for a while this won’t come as a surprise. I suffer from Automotive ADHD (attention deficit hyperactive disorder),  and it is just getting worse!

oyNatalie and I are in car shopping mode, we’re looking to downsize from our 2008 F250 FX4, while we love the truck, it is just far too big for our lives in California. We recently sold our horse trailer that we had been trying to sell for a while now. Now that the trailer is gone, we are ready to part with the truck.

So we’re looking at what to get. Natalie would like a 4 door wagon, with room for a stroller (or the dogs) in the back, the baby in the back seat, and us up front. We’re thinking that we would like to find a used BMW 5 series to fill that role, though figuring out what year/mileage is something we haven’t decided yet.

One thought we are having is that perhaps it might be a good idea to trade the Z in on a 4 door car for myself as well. I test drove a 2011 Mitsubishi Evolution today, oh boy, daddy like!

I wouldn’t buy a new Evo, they are far too costly, but I would considering getting a used one and then perhaps an  older (2000-2003) 5-series for Natalie. I went to check out a couple of used 2008 Evo’s at a dealer down in San Jose today but immediately noticed that they were both modified, which totally turns me off. I don’t want to get into a modified car again, I’d rather buy something that is completely stock and if I want to modifiy it do it myself.

So we’ll see where this bout with my latest batch of AADHD takes us.

Don’t believe me that I have a problem? Here’s a list of the cars I and Natalie have owned over the past 5 years.

2003 Nissan 350z
2004 Ford F350
1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe
1973 Datsun 240z
1978 Datsun 280z 2+2
2005 Chevy Tahoe
2004 Chevy Corvette Z06
2005 GMC Yukon
2008 Ford F250
1995 Audi A6
2004 Nissan 350z

A friend of the family is selling his 23 t-bucket. I've got some pictures that I took tonight, I'll get them posted over the next few days. Stay tuned if you're looking for a T-bucket that is in great shape with low miles.

Pictures are available here on my Flickr stream

So after what I would call a long and painful week I came home this evening and put in some elbow grease time on the F350. I clay bar'd most of the truck, the hood, the sides, and the rear. It got dark so I haven't gone and waxed the truck yet but I hope to do that first thing in the morning, after giving it another quick wash. Then I will wash/clay/wax the Corvette, it's in dire need of a good wax. Hopefully tomorrow before the Derby I can get myself out to a range and do some shooting. I haven't fired a gun in quite a while and I could use the release of some stress right now.

So it's snowing here in St. Louis today, for STL it's quite a bit, the roads are slick, dusted, with more coming down. What better thing to do at lunch then to drive out to see a 1.6 million dollar car! The local Bentley Dealer had a Bugatti Veyron sitting in the building so Rich, Henry and I headed over to check it out. I brought the camera with me today as I had hoped to make the treck out there. Here are some of the Veyron photos I took.

That is the question for 2008? How many hobbies is too many? Here's a list of the ones I want to do so far.... (in no particular order) 1. Play more golf 2. Get the 240Z running 3. Race the Corvette (alot) 4. Play and Record Music 5. Home Automation 6. Developer more cool DNN modules How many of those have I done so far this year? So far #1, started on #5, and always do #6 Nick and I went to the driving range today for a while. We're hoping to play 18 holes...

Lamborghini Reventon Lamborghini upped the ante on absurd car prices when it unveiled the Reventon sports car in Geneva Tuesday. Volkswagen's supercar subsidiary will produce just 20 of these cars for sale to "friends and collectors" at a price of 1 million euros each. That's almost $1.4 million. The exterior of the 650-horsepower car is made entirely of carbon fiber laid over a carbon fiber and steel frame. Inside, the Reventon's instrument panel, modeled after that in a modern jet, is made up of three customizable liquid crystal displays. a G-force display show longitudinal forces in a 3-dimensional image. The Reventon is named for the bull that killed Felix Guzman, a renowned bullfighter, in 1943.   More photos of the Reventon available from...

Well, I spent most of the day today doing a few things around the house. First, I took the good wheels off the Tahoe and put the stock wheels and tires back on. I figured that with Winter upon us I'd rather leave the shiney wheels down in the basement. While I was changing the wheels I had Vista installing on my machine again. I used the same machine that I had RC1/RC2 installed on, but this time I started over, as I had done with RC1, but not RC2. I installed Vista fresh on this machine. Everything is great so far. I installed Office Pro, Live Messenger, and a few other things. One of those other items is Windows Live Writer. I hadn't tried it out before (yes, I know, I'm behind). This is my first post with it, I'm not yet sure how I feel about it, but we'll see. Hope this post works, otherwise I may never try it again. As for the Vista machine, I've made the switch, I imported my 1.1gig PST file over to this machine, and setup most of my email accounts on it, so I'll be using this machine for all my email, development now. What's left? To get ZUNE working with Vista, then I'll be all set! Once that happens I'll also install Vista on my laptop, the 64bit version of course.
