Last night I launched a new feature on SCCAForums.com. Our recently launched Mapping System uses Google Maps functionality to allow SCCAForums.com Registerd users to plot points on our map, allowing users to see who is located near them, or in other parts of the country. Check out the Maps page for more features! We're sure this new system will generate some questions and we've tried to answer a few of them here, we'll add to that list over the next few days. If you have further questions please post in our Questions and Suggestions forum. http://sccaforums.com/maps/...

The above topic covers two different thoughts.. I have the power. Chad complained this morning because his once obscure site has now been indexed by google. That's right, I have the power! The other reason for the post. This morning I got a new Microsoft Natural Keyboard (4000). When I arrived at work I took off my fleece jacket and reached for my mouse. I immediatly felt a large shock, and after about an hour of diagnosis I figured out that I managed to fry the mouse with that shock. Great, now I have to go buy a new...

I've been here in Lexington, Kentucky for the past 4 days. I was fortunate enough to meet two of the brightest minds in the industry! Also, I can't forget Chad Hobson (checkout that killer site, what mad skillz). Anyways, back to the brightest minds. I got to meet Shaun Walker, founder of DotNetNuke, and Scott Willhite, one of the Board members for DotNetNuke. I of course got them to sign my DotNetNuke book while they were...

Bill Gates' webcast is still on for his Keynote at CES in Las Vegas today. So far they're just discussing Windows Vista, which I expected. I read a rumor online that they may announce an HD-DVD upgrade for 360s, it looks like that was just a rumor. Sure I'm excited about Vista, but who really cares until it's available? I try a beta on a test machine sometime in the next few weeks, but honestly, I'm a what can you give me now kind of tech guy. Hmmm, they made some sort of preview of MS Flight Sim, but of course my SBC DSL dropped the connection during that outage. update: looks like Bill just announced the new Treo Smartphone is selling tomorrow. I don't know if that was announced previously. update2: Awesome news! Directv and MS partnership! Media center is going to rock once you have Directv access as well! update3: Xbox360 update coming shortly! update4: third manufacturering partner announced for the 360. update 5: external HD DVD announced for xbox...

I decided today was the day to Upgrade Solo2.org. I'm upgrading the software to run on CommunityServer 2.0 Beta 1. Here's to hoping the beta is at least semi stable! I've got all of the posts up through 9am downloaded and imported into a DB, now I'm working on converting them into a good CS format so I can get the site up and running tonight. I'm converting from a DNN/Ubb.Classic website to run Solo2.org fully out of...

I've upgraded SoloPerformance.com.com to dotnetnuke 3.1.1 and put a new version of the DnnCart sofware up there as well. The latest version of DnnCart has more friendly url changes, and is building links with friendly URLs using Category Names and Product names, which would help to increase our search...

Well, I was going to do this blog post as my entry in the “blog your way to the PDC” but after doing a bit of research, I actually don't want to go to PDC 05 in LA. Here's why. The PDC is being held September 13-16th 2005, which is exactly the time frame I will be in Topeka Kansas at the SCCA Solo Nationals. Andy and I have a good shot at performing well in the car there this year, so I would hate to miss a trophy (hopefully) at Nationals to go to a developers conference! So, I challenge Microsoft to move the PDC to the following week! Then I will re-enter myself in the “blog your way to the PDC“ with my original intention of using the PDC as an excuse to road trip from St. Louis to California in my 350Z, blogging and taking photo graphs along the way! ...

I've released the first version of the CjhControls for CommunityServer 1.1. You can download the Zip file from here. This first release just has the Cjh:RssWriter writer control included. I'll have another release next week with a few more options on board. Check out the readme file for instructions on how to use the control. Cjh:RssWriter allows you to place a control on a page that will read an RSS feed and an XML Transformation file and then display the RSS feed on the page based on the transformation...

Since my MPX200 is about to die, the sound cuts out quite frequently, I picked up Dave's old phone this weekend. I just unlocked it today so that I can use  it with my current t-mobile service. If you're looking to unlock an MPX200 check out http://www.imei-check.co.uk they provided great/quick/cheap service and the phone is unlocked! I have now done a hard reset to reflash the phone and get rid of all Dave's old info on there, time to get it up and running. How do you do a hard (master) reset? Remove the battery, hold the blue button down, put the battery back in and press the power button. You'll be prompted from...

If you're looking for a dotnetnuke book check out this one written by some of the dotnetnuke Core Team Members. I believe there is a brief bio about all the DNN core team members, which means that I'm mentioned in the book! I've been in a few magazines, this will be my first book besides credits in some The Sporting News publications while I worked there. Found a blog by WROX, looks like the book won't be in my hands for another week...

So far this weekend has been a good one. Last night we setup the SoloPerformance.com store at the Midnight Madness drag races out at Gateway. I shot some video of the StreetFighterz out there having a blast on their bikes. You can download it here, but be warned, it's 25megs and in Windows Media format. Today Rabid and I headed to Kansas City to watch the Cards game. It was amazing seeing so many Cardinals fans there, I  think it was easily split 50/50 between red and blue in the stadium. The ride back was wet. Somehow a big storm front totally missed KC but covered 70 the whole way back. ...
