This weekend I shot my first CrossFit competition since the 2019 CrossFit Games. I was asked to come out to CrossFit Wildwood to shoot the Midwest Masters Experience event. The event was great, with 60+ teams out there, all of the entrants 35+ (I believe) with the oldest being 72.

I took my son out to Indianapolis Motor Speedway over the weekend to catch the Sunday races of the 2021 SCCA RunOffs. We had a blast out there, I may have been to IMS once about 29 years ago for a tour, but this was the first time there catching any racing.

The time has come, I have uploaded all the 2021 Solo Nationals and ProSolo Finale Photos from last week. I did NOT shoot every heat, between running and working announce for Heat 1 on Thursday and Friday, and just being tired all week, there were a few heats that I wasn’t able to get to, those are listed at the bottom of this page. Galleries are organized by Day and then by Run Heat/Classes. I currently have the ProSolo and Friday photos tagged and am working through the other days.

Once again I spent a day (8/29/2021) out at Indian Camp Creek Park shooting a mountain bike race. This time I was shooting the Missouri Interscholastic Cycling League 2021 Race Series Race #1.

Saturday August 21st, 2021 I grabbed the camera gear and headed out to World Wide Technology Raceway in Madison Illinois. I couldn’t talk anyone from my family to join me, so I was free to wander around the facility and shoot photos of the Indy Car Race.

Earlier this summer we blogged about the Coy Hill High Proof coming out this fall, well we’ve got another new release from the Jack Daniel’s Distillery coming in early September!

Jack Daniels 10-Years Old Tennessee Whiskey

I was out at ICC yesterday shooting photos of the ICC Challenge, I tried to get a shot of everyone, I likely missed at least a few folks, but I’ve posted 3870 photos organized into three galleries.

The latest release in the Tennessee Tasters’ series is the 14E19 “Twin” Blend Whiskey. This particular release is from Fall 2020, and contains Straight Tennessee Whiskey blended with Straight Tennessee Rye Whiskey.

It appears as though the next “special release” bottle from Jack Daniel’s will be available this fall as Jack Daniel’s Coy Hill High Proof.

In the spring of 2020 Jack Daniel’s released the sixth bottle in their Tennessee Tasters’ series, Jamaican Allspice, Straight Tennessee Whiskey Finished with Toasted Jamaican Allspice Wood.

In the fall of 2019 Jack Daniel’s released the fifth bottle in their Tennessee Tasters’ series, Barrel Reunion #2, Straight Tennessee Whiskey Finished in Oatmeal Stout Barrels.

This week I got out on my first work trip, since probably August 2019. I started a new job last year, about a week after the world shut down for the pandemic, so work trips have been on hold for quite some time, that and the last employer stopped my travelling, so I hadn’t been on the road for work in quite some time. It was great to get out and meet some fellow employees and customers face to face.

Fortunately for me the trip was to Franklin, TN, which isn’t too far from Lynchburg, so I turned the work trip into a little fun too. Before heading down, I signed up for the Angel’s Share tour on Thursday morning. Wednesday after the work meetings were over I drove around Franklin TN a bit and did some whiskey hunting, checking out the local liquor stores to see what I could find. I ended up picking up a bottle of Wheeler’s Raid, which is a local whiskey out of Nolensville, TN I believe, on the recommendation of a coworker.

Two Years ago I was in Emporia Kansas for the Dirty Kanza, riding 100 miles on gravel for the first time. It wasn't easy, I was slow, and spent most of the second half helping a buddy get through the ride while he was having some serious cramping. Overall we had a great weekend of riding and I made it a point to try to get back. Last year things didn't go as planned, and I sure as heck wasn't trained and ready for a 200 mile bike ride if the event had occurred, but I was planning on 2021 being the year I rode 200 miles. Earlier this year I failed to start training/riding early, and ultimately spent about 2 months dealing with some heart issues that I wasn't planning on having to endure until much later in life.

So here we are, it’s 2021 already and you’ve hopefully started autocrossing again. We have had the car out to one two events so far.

The first event was back on April 11th, a few days before we started writing this post (and are just now getting around to finishing). Tom S is codriving with me at most events this year, not sure how many out of town events he will be at, or heck how many out of town events I will be at.
