Adobe Indigo not working on iPhone 17 Pro Max
Adobe Indigo, the camera app, is currently not functioning on Apple’s newly released iPhone 17 lineup.

The highly anticipated iPhone 17 lineup, including the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, hit the market last week with Apple’s usual fanfare. But not every app is ready to take advantage of the new hardware. One major disappointment for creatives and mobile photographers: Adobe Indigo, the popular camera app, is currently not working on the new devices.
What’s the Problem?
Early adopters report that the app displays a message when opening that it only works on certain devices, and IPhone 17 is not in the list. Even users attempting fresh installs from the App Store are hitting the same issue. Given Indigo’s popularity among professionals for its RAW capture capabilities, manual controls, and seamless Adobe Creative Cloud integration, this incompatibility is frustrating.
At the time of writing, Adobe has not yet released an update to address the issue. The problem seems to affect the entire iPhone 17 family, not just the Pro Max variant.
Why the Delay?
While Apple provides developers with early access to iOS betas and device specifications, compatibility issues can still arise when brand-new hardware launches. The iPhone 17 Pro Max, in particular, introduces new camera hardware and processing pipelines. These changes may require Adobe to rework parts of the Indigo app to fully support the new imaging system.
What Can Users Do?
For now, if Indigo is critical to your workflow, your best option is to hold off upgrading to an iPhone 17 device. If you’ve already made the leap, you’ll need to use Apple’s stock Camera app or other third-party apps that have been updated for iOS 19 (the version shipping with iPhone 17).
Adobe has a strong track record of responding to device launches, so it’s likely that a patch or update will be coming soon. However, as of now, there’s no official ETA.
Stay Tuned
We’ll keep monitoring Adobe’s announcements and update this post when the Indigo team rolls out a fix. In the meantime, if you rely heavily on Indigo for professional shooting, you may want to keep your older iPhone handy until compatibility issues are resolved.
Update
Found online that Adobe has acknowledged the issue and is working on a fix. No timeline yet, but hopefully soon!
“A short announcement for the board - iPhone 17-series support is coming soon. The team is just getting the devices, and since we are using our own processing we need to do full camera calibration for all variants which will take a few days. We will release an updated app as soon as this is ready. Thank you to all early adopters for your patience.”
